What our Customers Say About Us!
My sister Clare and I decided in 2007 after years of living hundreds or even thousands of miles apart that finding ourselves within 50 miles of each other we should “do something” together. We had always wanted to learn how to ride so it seemed the perfect time and the perfect opportunity.
So why did I choose LME? Luck!! I phoned around a number of places and secured a lesson for that coming weekend. When Clare asked why I chose LME I said “The lady on the phone sounded nice”. And I was right! Since then the lady on the phone, Wendy, has rearranged appointments, fitted us into other classes and generally helped us out with whatever we’ve needed. And all with quiet efficiency and the same lovely manner that I encountered on that very first day. They say that first impressions count and they do!
So why did I stay with LME? Not luck!! There is no luck involved in the wonderful set up that Sarah has created. The relaxed atmosphere coupled with the professionalism and hard work of the staff result in the perfect environment in which to learn. So I started to learn how to ride just a few months short of my 40thbirthday. It’s never too late to start.
Unfortunately shortly after starting my lessons I had a fall, which damaged my confidence more than anything else. I’m still a bit of a scaredy cat but I have come a long way since getting back on after that fall. I put this down to perseverance on my part and the near saintly patience of my instructor Alex. She has put up with tears, tantrums, panic attacks and not a small amount of swearing and all with incredible good humour. And still does. I know that I’ve said this before but “Thanks Alex – you’re the best!”
So what am I up to today? Not just learning to ride, I now have a horse on loan. How does that work? Well, I call it my all access pass. For a very reasonable fee and only a few restrictions (she has Monday off!), I can go and ride whenever I want. And the horse? I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect match. Blossom is a 16 2 Irish draft cross with the most lovely disposition imaginable. And as with all things, Sarah and her staff are there to help and I am never made to feel foolish no matter the question or concern. Bloss and I are learning together and we are in the best possible hands.
All through my riding journey LME have been there to help, support, cajole, correct and provide the most wonderful experience possible. The atmosphere is relaxed, the facilities superb, the horses are exceptional and the staff second to none.
So why LME? There’s nowhere else I’d rather be.

We were recommended to use Liege Manor after two not so good experiences. Five years have passed and as Stephanie has progressed her tuition has kept pace. Sarah runs her equestrian centre in a manner others can only hope to copy. Highly recommended, excellent staff and facilities and most important, great horses.
I initially went to Liege Manor 2 years ago for riding lessons, and was impressed by the enthusiasm, knowledge and friendliness of staff.
Now I have my own mare at the livery there, and she is settled and well cared for.
Sarah runs her yard in a professional manner, and is available to give advice whenever required
Some of the plus points for me are:
- My horse has regular feeding and stable routine
- There is well-managed pasture with safe post and rail fencing
- I can ride whatever the weather (in the indoor school)
- Hacking out to the forestry and bridlepaths is close by
- there is a friendly community of other riders
- private and group tuition is available to develop my riding.
Liege Manor livery enables me to enjoy horse ownership alongside my career, and I have no hesitation in recommending it to others.

I have had my horse at Liege Manor since 2007, where she's looked after by a highly qualified and committed staff team, who are always on hand to give advice. Livery owners have use of all the facilities, including the indoor school (so we can ride in all weathers!)
In addition to the high level of instruction available in the riding school, Sarah provides dedicated lessons for livery owners, and we can book into the schedule of jumping and dressage clinics. We also have competitions run for us by livery owners and staff, which are great fun. To top it off there's off-road hacking nearby. As I work long hours, I thought I'd never be able to have my own horse, but Liege Manor has made that possible. Now, I wouldn't want to be anywhere else!

I would highly recommend Liege Manor, the staff are very friendly and professional. The lessons are varied and interesting. The horses and ponies are well looked after. My daughter loves her lessons and also the pony days.
Liege Manor has taught both my children to ride over the past 11 years! We have watched Sarah and her team at Liege Manor grow from strength to strength. We attend a group lesson on a saturday and various one to one lessons which are five star!

My daughter is really enjoying learning to ride here. A very professional riding school.
My daughter Ella Jenkins has been riding since she was 5 years old-now nearly 15! -we found Liege Manor on the internet after her previous instructor retired. Over the last few years Ella has gained confidence, knowledge and much experince which I would like to thank all staff at Liege Manor for its a pleasure as a parent to sit, watch and enjoy young and old having fun while learning.
A very professional riding school, with friendly staff and excellent teaching. Keira loves coming and enjoys being involved with taking the horses back to the stables. She enjoys her lessons and I would thoroughly recommend Liege Manor for the temperament of the ponies and care.
I started riding at Liege Manor over 5 years ago having a few lessons a week. I loved it so much I now have my own horse here. The facilities are excellent, it doesnt matter if its raining as there's always opportunities to ride in the indoor arena. My daughter Katie has been riding at Liege Manor for 12 months and looks forward to her lessons and enjoys them very much. The staff are really friendly and the facilities are excellent. Since Katie has been attending Liege Manor this has improved her concentration and also boosted her confidence. Special thanks to her instructor Sarah as she makes her lessons so enjoyable.
Mrs Ceri Mason (Midday Supervisor, Llangan Primary School)
Poppy looks forward to each Saturday's riding lesson. She sees it as challenging and gets nervous beforehand, but Sarah is an excellent instructor, and as soon as Poppy is on the horse she forgets her nerves. I like the way Sarah encourages the girls to take control over their mounts, and Poppy's ability has increased enormously. In my view Liege Manor is an excellent place to learn to ride and I would recommend it whole heartedly. Both Poppy and I (dad) look forward to Saturdays. Thanks for making learning to ride so enjoyable.
Rosie has been riding for 18 months, started from scratch and loves it. We are very proud and amazed at what she can do on a horse. She had her 8th birthday at the school with 3 of her friends who still talk about the fun they had. The lessons are always well staffed and the girls are all helpful. Thoroughly recommend.
Madeline looks forward to her weekly lesson so much. Totally professional outfit, especially staff. Madeline has great fun. A pleasure to visit.
My daughter Ruby thoroughly enjoys her lessons which are conducted very professionally with a teacher that understands horses and children completely!!
Jon Rees (Camera Man)
Lauren has been attending Liege Manor for approx. 3 years and looks forward to her lesson every week. Thoroughly enjoyable, very well organised and always carried very professionally, she wouldn't miss it for the world! The highlight of the week. Great selection of horses and dad enjoys watching to.
I have wanted to ride for some time, and a visit to Liege Manor inspired me to take the plunge. All the staff have a professional and friendly approach, and have welcomed me with open arms.
Richard Hassett (Fire Officer SWFRS)
Tamzyn has been coming to Liege Manor for 3 years and enjoys her lessons every week. She has developed her riding abilities during this time to be able to trot, canter, gallop and ride with and without stirrups. It is a very friendly helpful place with lots of fun and beautiful horses.
My daughter has been riding at Liege Manor for about two years. It has really boosted her riding ability and she has learnt alot. the staff are always friendly and it is a very safe enviroment to learn.
Both my daughter and I have been riding at Liege Manor for about 9 months. The facilities are of a really high standard and the instructors and staff are well qualified and really friendly and helpful. We both have thoroughly enjoyed our time riding at Liege Manor and hope it continues for many years to come.

I have been riding at Liege Manor for just over a year- returning to it after years without lessons. I started with private lessons, I have joined group lessons, had a horse on loan and have recently bought my own who is on full livery here. I find the combination of knowledgeable friendly staff (who are always willing to help or answer daft questions) and excellent tuition unbeatable. I would highly recommend Liege Manor to any one.
I have had weekly riding lessons at Liege Manor since I was 5 years old. My parents agreed to loan a horse for me last December. It has been great becoming part of the Liege Manor family. The staff are really friendly and helpful and the shows organised by the events committee can be fun while giving you a taste of competition riding.
My wife-Caroline-and I keep 2 horses on 'working livery' at Liege Manor and they evidently happy and healthy. The friendliness, helpfulness, and keen equestrian insight of the staff are much to be admired. They are always available to discuss anything concerning our horses and we are confident that our horses are in the finest possible care.
We have both recieved riding instructions-and enjoyed them thoroughly. In my own case, I was taken from no experience to where i am now-capable of riding hard trails in Montana. This is perhaps not unusual in itself-but i am probably one of the least likely people to attempt riding. I have bi-monocular vision and am left-right dyslexic-which impairs my sence of balance and physical coordination. That I can now canter through trees and jump logs is little short of miraculous.
Dr C Togden(Author and International Lecturer) with Liege Manor since 1999
I have been a client of Liege Manor for 10 years and for the last 4 years have had a pony on working livery. I have always been impressed by the friendly welcome and the exceptionally high standards at the yard. The facilities are impressive. The ponies live in a 5 star environment, are expertly trained and cared for with real love. The staff are well trained and enthusiastic and this is reflected in the advice and encouragement that they give, both in formal lessons and informally. The working livery arrangement is managed for the benefit of the pony, the yard and us and is a great way to be involved. Livery owners also benefit from small yard competitions in showjumping and dressage the provide challenges in a fun environment. My daughter and I can't imagine a life without LME.
Cath Hughes (Civil Servant)
Having returned to riding after a break due to illness, I've found the staff to be very well trained and professional in their approach. I'm also pleased that I have never seen a horse used with any health issues. I hope to continue riding here at Liege Manor even though I have quite a journey.

Teddy and I have been at Liege Manor for 9 months now, and I'm really happy with the way things are done there.
The facilities are excellent (including indoor and outdoor schools, walker and turnout), and the staff are fantastic- really friendly and helpful.
It's great to have peace of mind; knowing Teddy is being looked after even when I can't be there.
